3 Days Mgahinga Mountain Hike

This 3 day Mgahinga mountain hike heads you to the South western part of Uganda for an exciting hike of the three peaks exposing you to different Wildlife species within range, the hiking is usually done in one day.

Day 1: Transfer to Kisoro Town

Early in the morning after your breakfast embark your Safari jeep with our guide and start the exciting journey to the South western part of Uganda via Kampala-Masaka-Mbarara highway including en route stopover at the equator before reaching Masaka town for some brief explanation about the equator, photographs and Snacks, thereafter continue with the journey for another stopover in Mbarara town for a delicious lunch.

After lunch continues with the Journey to Kisoro for check in at the lodge, it takes about 8-9 hours for the drive from Kampala to Mgahinga Gorilla National Park in Kisoro. Check in at Travellers Rest for a relaxation, dinner and Overnight stay.

Day 2: Mountain Hiking Tour

The great climbing of the extinct volcano is usually done in south western Uganda involving climbing of three peaks, this hiking takes us through muddy trails on wooden ladders.

Expect some Partial rains are usually expected and clearing clouds as you get exposed to the beautiful view of Rwanda “The land of a thousand hills” and Democratic republic of Congo. Reaching the summit you are exposed to viewing the natural landscapes of the three countries including Uganda, Rwanda and DR Congo.

This three day hiking sometimes involves walking straight up the mountain without going rotating around it. This adventure requires physical fitness and if you are not you might need to hire a potter to lift you in case you get tired on the way at affordable prices.

After this great adventure you will automatically be tired so it’s advised that you return at your lodge for relaxation, dinner and overnight stay. Accommodation option is the Travellers Rest.

Day 3: Transfer back to Kampala.

Early in the morning have your breakfast as you get prepare for your exciting journey back to Kampala after your great adventure in Mgahinga Gorilla National Park, later check out at the lodge and start your journey back to Kampala, have en route stopover in Mbarara town for Lunch and after continue with the Journey back to Kampala.

Reaching Kampala you can check in at the hotel for overnight stay or drive straight to Entebbe international airport in case you have a return flight back home.
