3 Day Kibale Chimp Tracking Safari

This 3 days safari will bring you close to the chimpanzees in Kibale forest. There are two sessions of tracking (morning or afternoon). On arrival you will be picked by our driver guide and transfer up to a hotel in Kampala for night stay.

Day 1: Transfer from Kampala to Kibale National Park

Early in the morning you will have your morning breakfast. After check out at the hotel to start the Journey from Kampala to Kibale Forest National Park in the western part of Uganda.

The drive takes about five hours along Kampala – Mubende – Fort portal highway. Accommodation options include Papaya Lake Lodge for luxury, Turaco treetops for mid-range and Chimpanzee guest house for budget option.

Day 2: Chimpanzees tracking in Kibale – Bigodi Walk

Have morning breakfast and later transfer up to Kanywanchu tourism center for a briefing conducted before the tracking excursion to the forest is started. Tourists are allowed to stay with the chimps for a maximum of one hour after locating their presence.

After seeing the Chimpanzees you will return to the lodge for lunch. After lunch you have some space to relax and later you will take a walk in Bigodi swamp. This swamp is home to a range of wildlife species like birds, wild animals, insects and reptiles.

Day 3: Kibale – Drive back to Kampala.

After your two nights in Kibale you will start an amazing journey from Kibale back to Kampala or Entebbe for your return flight back home. Lunch is provided enroute and stopover in Kampala for shopping and a visit to the bank is included. End of Safari.
